Bandits Steal ATM

Thieves dislodged and made off with an automated teller machine from Centennial Bank in Toone on the night and morning of November 29-30, but didn’t get far with the approximately 2,500 pound unit.

The machine was recovered by law enforcement, but as of December 1, no suspects had been arrested in the case.

Also at press time, it was still unknown if the robbers managed to get any money out of the machine before it was abandoned less than a quarter-mile away, west of the bank.

Video footage from the bank is being studied by law enforcement.
