Robinson Signs with Columbia State

For the second time in three years Columbia State Community College will have a Mr. Basketball from Hardeman County agree to join the Charger basketball program as Middleton Tiger R.J. Robinson signed on April 25.

In his career at Middleton, he scored 1,941 points, grabbed 811 rebounds, dished out 307 assists, and had 192 steals.

His middle school career that saw him named all-county and MVP he continued with four years of all-district, including two years (2022 and 2023) of being named the district, district tournament, and region MVP as well.

He was a Mr. Basketball finalist in 2022 before winning the award in 2023. He was the second player to win Mr. Basketball from Middleton, joining Steve Hamer.

Robinson moves to a successful program as under Coach Winston Neal, Columbia State has won the conference regular season title the last two years.

In the fall of 2021, Bolivar Central forward Toris Woods, who also won Mr. Basketball, joined the program.
