Pulse Wins Election

Hardeman County will have a leadership change at the top as Todd Pulse was elected Mayor of Hardeman County on August 4, getting 50.2% of the vote.

“I am looking forward to a smooth transition and working with all our county and city leaders,” said Pulse. “And congratulations to all our newly elected officials as well. Thank you to Hardeman County for your support and vote.”

Pulse won 11 of 12 precincts, losing only Saulsbury to third-place finisher Hornsby Mayor Megan Hedwall.

“Thank you to everyone who voted for me,” she said. “My congratulations to Mr. Todd Pulse on winning County Mayor.”

Incumbent Mayor Jimmy Sain finished second.

“I would like to thank all of my supporters for the eight great years to serve this county. Also, the awesome team members I’ve had the opportunity to work with to elevate the county to a much better place than we found it. I’m sincerely blessed and thankful for a wife and family that have endured a rewarding but sometimes harsh public service life,” he said.

Former Whiteville Mayor Aubrey Phillips was fourth.

The other two county wide races were won by Tonet Griggs, who defeated Chris Bell and Polly Morris for County Clerk and Eunice Gudger defeated Jonathan Joy for Circuit Court Clerk.
