Moore Takes Somerville Chief Job

Hardeman County Sheriff’s Department Chief Deputy Greg Moore ended 13 years of service to the county when he began his tenure as Police Chief of Somerville on May 1.

“I am proud of Chief Moore.” began Hardeman County Sheriff John Doolen.

“Greg has been an employee of the Hardeman County Sheriff’s Office since March 16, 2010. Chief Moore deserves this promotion and of course, can’t pass up the money. Greg will be missed here at the sheriff's office but we wish him luck as the new police chief in Somerville.”

Moore began his service as Chief Deputy for Hardeman County in 2018, replacing Billy Davis, who left upon being elected Hardeman County Circuit Court Clerk.

Doolen said finding a replacement for Moore will not be accomplished until at least after July 1, due to a lack of money in the budget.
