Employee Dispute Ends in Death

A shooting at the Bolivar One-Stop, 320 W. Market Street, resulted in a death and an arrest connected to it.

On Sunday, June 19, at approximately 10:03 p.m., Bolivar Police officers responded to the scene and discovered Mahmoude Saleh deceased from multiple gunshot wounds. Through further investigation, in collaboration with the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation (TBI), a 26-year-old male, Khalil Abuzaid, a co-worker, was identified as a suspect.

The Bolivar Police Department and TBI investigators developed information that the suspect had fled the area and was located in Madison County, Tennessee. Officers from the Madison County Sheriff’s Department apprehended the suspect at approximately 9:25 a.m. on Monday, June 20, without incident. The suspect has been charged with First Degree Murder and is currently being held at the Hardeman County Criminal Justice Complex pending arraignment.

The Bolivar Police Department, along with the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation, continue to investigate this matter. As this is an active, ongoing investigation, no further details will be released at this time.
