59,000 Pounds of Garbage

Transfer of the Hardeman County Litter Grant to the Hardeman County Sheriff’s Department has seen almost thirty tons of waste picked up in the last two months and have identified areas of real concern for Hardeman County.

Under the direction of Hardeman County Sheriff John Doolen, a supervisor was hired and takes three men out to pick up on roads around Hardeman County, including Chapleau Road, Newcastle Road, Cedar Grove Loop, Vildo Road, Hannis Road, Middleton Loop, Mecklinburg Drive, Park Swain Road, Gentry Chapel, Winwood Farms Loop, Indian Creek Road, Smith Road, Van Buren Road, and Lake Hardeman Road.

Illegal dump sites on Chapleau Road, Newcastle Road, and Cedar Grove Loop were identified as well.

“We’ve cleared 59,000 pounds of garbage due to the hard work of our crew,” said Hardeman County Sheriff John Doolen. “But there’s a lot more to do.”
