2022 Story of the Year - County Changes Leadership

Hardeman County elected Todd Pulse Mayor of Hardeman County on August 4, getting 50.2% of the vote in a four-way race.

Pulse, who ran as a Democrat, won 11 of 12 precincts, losing only Saulsbury to third-place finisher and Republican nominee Hornsby Mayor Megan Hedwall.

Incumbent Mayor Jimmy Sain finished second ending his eight years as mayor. Former Whiteville Mayor Aubrey Phillips was fourth.

Pulse took office September 1.
