After inspecting the Hardeman County recycling center during his first day in office, Hardeman County Mayor Jimmy Sain gave Hardeman County Sanitation and Landfill Director Gene Mills and workers until September 30 to clean up the facility. The facility, which was once used for tours for elementary school children on the importance of recycling, now contains small paths and walking areas to get through the building.

Newly elected Hardeman County Mayor Jimmy Sain began his first day in office, September 2, determining how the county would be able to meet payroll, bringing the county into compliance with the Freedom of Information Act, working to form a plan to correct the county’s violation of The Sunshine Act, ensuring the landfill violations are corrected as well as cleaning up the recycling center.
