Raises Yes, Tax Increase No

The City of Bolivar passed a balanced budget with no tax raise and a three-percent pay increase for employees during the June 27 meeting at the Bolivar Municipal Center.
The tax rate stayed at $1.1542.
ā€œIā€™m happy we were able to provide a cost of living increase without raising taxes on the citizens,ā€ said Mayor Julian McTizic.
The vote on the budget was the final vote for councilpeople Tracy Byrum and Tommy Woods, who chose not to run in the 2019 election.
