New Football Coach

Bolivar Central High School announced the hiring of Rennard Woodmore as their new football coach.

“I’m really excited about the opportunity Bolivar Central has afforded me to become the next head coach. I’m excited to get to know the players, the administration, and the community.”

Woodmore, who has been at Scotts Hill High School since 2019 as the head football coach and the nine years before that as head baseball coach at Adamsville, met with his players on March 20 at Bolivar Central.

Woodmore replaces Hayden Williams, whose four years at Bolivar included a 6-4 mark in 2023, who took the head coaching job at Humboldt High School after last season.

Prior to Scotts Hill, Woodmore was Assistant Head Football Coach, Defensive and Special Teams Coordinator at Adamsville from 2007-2019. Woodmore has a Bachelor of Science in Physical Education from Lambuth, achieved in 2005, and got his Master of Science in Instructional Leadership from Trevecca University in 2010.

“We are very excited about the future of Bolivar Central Football. I have no doubt that Coach Woodmore will be the catalyst that propels our program to the next level,” said Bolivar Central Athletic Director Mark Fulghum.

Bolivar Central Principal Brittany Avent, who has seen high school football success at Haywood County in the past few years, looks forward to the future.

“Hardeman County Schools and Bolivar Central High School are excited to announce Rennard Woodmore as the new head coach for Tiger Football. When we began the search for a new leader of our football program, we wanted a coach who shared our values, who had demonstrated success, who showed a true commitment to the overall studentathlete, and who we believed could lead Bolivar Central to become a program that competes for a championship. We believe that we have found all that and more in Coach Woodmore, and he will be a great fit for the Tiger Family.”

Woodmore’s high school career at Trousdale County included at State Championship in 1998.

Bolivar opens at home August 23 versus Fayette Ware.
