Both Bolivar Central and Middleton varsity football saw defeat at home in their opening games on August 17.

The Tigers, who outgained the Cardinals by more than 100 (302-194) yards on the night, failed three times to score after getting the ball inside the 20-yard line.
Bolivar quarterback Jace McKenzie completed 9 of 19 passes for 115, 85 of the yards went to Rayshawn Marcell, who was named the Vaughan Oil Player of the Game for his efforts. Gibbs was named the Defensive Player of the Week.
Middleton trailed 35-6 at halftime and eventually fell 59-12 to Biggersville at T.D. Owens Field in Middleton.
