Bolivar Surges to the Top

Bolivar Central outscored Fayette Ware 32-22 in the second half and 8-3 in the overtime period to take possession of first place in District 14AAA on January 30 with a 57-52 victory.

Senior guard Kylan McNeal (pictured right) led Bolivar with 17 points, including three 3-point buckets in the second half, and 10 rebounds, while senior Tracy Jones added 16 points and 15 rebounds.

Bolivar is 18-3 overall with a 3-0 record in the district.

Bolivar Central’s girls team got outscored 9-0 in the last two minutes and fell 65-59. Bolivar was led by Naveah Bunch and Mikayla Newble, who each had 20 points. Bunch had 11 rebounds and six assists, while Sharaven Perry had 10 points and 17 rebounds for Bolivar. Bolivar is 2-1 in district play, while Fayette Ware is in first place with a 2-0 record.
