BMS and MMS reach county championship

The opening two games of the Hardeman County Middle School Baseball Tournament were held Thursday, March 26, in Middleton, with Bolivar defeating Hornsby 5-3 in the opener, and Middleton defeating Hornsby 12-2 in the second game.
In the opening game, Bolivar took an early lead, scoring several runs, mostly due to troubles on the part of the Hornsby pitcher, who walked several runners. Hornsby would make a game out of it, scoring two runs in the final inning, largely due to Bolivar pitcher was getting tired, and began throwing a few bad pitches.
“Overall, I am pleased with the way we played today, but we almost blew the game in the final inning,” Bolivar Head Coach Shawn O’Neil said.
