Best Start Since 2009

Bolivar Central’s 54-40 win over Covington on January 13 not only gave them a seven-game winning streak, but gave them their best start (15-3) in the first eighteen games since the 2008-2009 campaign, when they began 16-2.

The win over Covington came after a lackluster first half, only leading 25-21, and a quick meeting at the break.

“I didn’t say a whole lot,” said Head Coach Cameron Crisp. “We just keep repeating that we need to play defense and rebound.”

Bolivar managed to keep Covington from taking the lead in the third quarter and led 37-35, but then put the Chargers away in the fourth quarter, outscoring them 17-5 in the final stanza.

Jah’Quinton Woods led Bolivar with 13 points.

The Bolivar Central Lady Tigers beat Covington 45-18, their first win over Covington since 2018.
