UT-Martin in Jackson Offers Aerospace Class for Kids

Parents can register their children for one of two remaining courses on aerospace offered from 9 a.m.-noon, November 12 or December 3, at the University of Tennessee at Martin Jackson Center.
Dr. Leland Smith, course instructor, will lead students as they build, test, fly and evaluate various projects, including wind tunnels, aerodynamic paper panes, FPG9 gliders, Balsa wood flyers, Balsa wood bi-plane gliders, stomp rockets, bottle rockets and hot air balloons. Smith, a Lt. Col. with the United States Air Force Auxiliary and a UT Martin instructor, will also teach participants about the Bernoulli effect, and the history and four forces of flight. The Civil Air Patrol supplies many of the materials used during the course.
The registration fee for this course is $35 per session.
