Middleton Elementary Report

MES has been busy and exciting for the months of February and March. I’m going to let you in on some of the things that students and teachers have enjoyed lately.
On the evening of February 13th, some of the students from the 3rd, 4th, and 5th grades put on an outstanding program for the parents and teachers at the PTO meeting. Everyone enjoyed the singing, dancing and playing of instruments under Mr. Andrew Proctor’s direction. A big thank you to everybody who planned, practiced, and performed!
Parents of first graders were invited for lunch with their students on February 17th. As always, the meal was great and students enjoyed their special family time at school. Thanks to all of our hard working MES cafeteria ladies for such a delicious meal!
On February 24th MES students and staff had the honor of meeting Miss Tennessee! We enjoyed getting to see her and listening to her words of experience and encouragement. Later that afternoon, MES held its annual Relay for Life kickoff where students were encouraged to fight cancer by bringing in money the following week. Many people shared stories and pumped everyone up to make a difference in the fight against cancer! Over the course of the next week, students brought in an awesome amount of money and showed a great team effort to support such a worthy cause. Thanks to everyone who donated!!
The annual 3rd grade spelling bee was held on March 1st. Congratulations to these winners: 1st place was Hunter Lipford; 2nd place was Cody Brinson; 3rd place was Harlee Scott; 4th place was Alesa Moss. Way to go!
