BMS students get free books

Students from Bolivar Middle School lined up to select a hard back book of their very own during a free book giveaway in association with Dr. Seuss Day on Friday, March 4, in the school gym, thanks to a grant from best selling author James Patterson and Scholastic Books.
The grant was one of 467 grants awarded over the past several months to school libraries all across the United States as part of a $1.75 million donation from Patterson to Scholastic Books. BMS librarian Deana Sain applied for the grant last spring, and was awarded $5,000 at the beginning of the 2015-2016 school year. Instead of using the money to purchase new books for the library, Sain decided to purchase books to give to the students.
