Wendel Miller, Sr.

Wendel Miller, Sr. was born on Nov. 7, 1937 in Bolivar to Mr. Ridley and Mrs. Maggie Miller, Sr. He departed this life on Jan. 22, 2016. He received his education in Hardeman, County and attended Allen White High School in Whiteville. While attending he was a member of the basketball team. Later he was enlisted into The U. S. Army. He served in the Korean Conflict. He accepted Christ at any early age and was a member of Greater Springfield Baptist Church in Bolivar for many years. He united in Holy Matrimony to Jean Bell Miller in 1958 and to this union there was five children.
Wendel worked at The Kilgore Plant (Toone), Wagner Casting Company (Decatur, Ill.), and retired from Harmon International (Bolivar). He loved his family farm and managed it his entire career. He enjoyed spending time with his family, fishing, hunting, gardening, building homes, and attending to the needs of the land. He was a member of The Future Farmers of America and recognized as a Legionnaire by The U. S. American Legion.
