Connie Marcum Murphy

Connie Marcum Murphy passed from this life on Wednesday, August 12, 2015, at the Jackson-Madison County General Hospital at the age of 48 years, seven months and eight days.
She was born in Jackson on January 4, 1967 to Butch and Marilyn Marcum. A graduate of Middleton High School, she was married to Michael Murphy on December 29, 1998. Although she lived much of her life in Hardeman County, she had also resided in Colorado Springs, CO, Germany and Searcy, AR.
Connie had worked the past eight years as an assistant teacher for the Southwest Head Start program. A member of the Essary Springs Baptist Church, she enjoyed flowers, attending auctions (especially working at the Middleton Auction Co.) and assisting her mother with Hebron cemetery, while she was the caretaker there. Her outgoing personality and love of children went naturally with her ability to care for little ones and her "never having met a stranger." She had become the touchstone upon which her family depended. She will be greatly missed.
