Charles Joe Joe Baker

Charles Joe Joe Baker, age 88, of Hornsby, departed this life Wednesday, August 5, 2015 at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital.
The husband of Ruth Vaughan Baker, who survives, he was a retired Baptist minister, having preached the gospel for 55 years  in Hardeman, McNairy and Chester counties and Florida and was instrumental in the organization of three different churches.  He was born September 26, 1926, in Hardeman County, son of the late Joe M. and Daisy Marie McDaniel Baker and lived in Hardeman County most of his life.  He lived about 10 years in Florida and in Scotts Hill for about 8 years.  He served in the US Army Air Corps during World War II and was a lifetime member of the American Legion.  He worked as a mail carrier for the US Postal Service in Bolivar and was Baptist in belief.
