Bettie Fletcher

Bettie “Jean” Fletcher, 72, went to be with our Lord & Savior Jesus Christ November 9, 2015, at Decatur Memorial Hospital, Decatur, Ill., with her family by her side.
Bettie was born February 10, 1943, in Saulsbury to Leslie Sr. and Fannie Mae Howard. She was raised in Bolivar. She married Jimmy Fletcher in 1961, and they moved to Decatur, Ill., shortly thereafter. Bettie was a member of Antioch Missionary Baptist Church, where she served on the Nurses Guild, as well as sung in the choir for many years. Bettie was also a Licensed Practical Nurse and spent a majority of her career at Heritage Behavioral Health Center, retiring in 2005.
Although retired in the traditional sense, that didn’t slow Bettie down. She was an avid reader, she loved to bake, and she helped care for her great grandchildren, who were a great sense of joy and pride for her.
