“Advent”: arrival. In Christianity it’s preparing to celebrate the birth of Christ. The Advent season generally starts four weeks prior to Christmas. On this, the Second Sunday of Advent, Middleton United Methodist Church, along with the Reaves Memorial and Powells Chapel Churches, held a joint service for the “adorning of the Chrismon Tree.”
