Hardeman County Mayor Jimmy Sain declared it Imagination Library Week in Hardeman County in conjunction with the statewide recognition of the program and presented a $2,500 check on behalf of the county.
Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library is a book gifting program that mails free, high-quality books to children from birth until they begin school, no matter their family’s income. What began as a way to help her community in 1995, grew statewide by 2004, resulting in more than 100 million books being sent to children. More than 1.3 million kids have been registered.
