
Bolivar Ladies get a pair of easy wins
The Bolivar Lady Tigers finally got in the win column this past week with a couple of easy wins, defeating Jackson North Side 72-11 on the road Tuesday, December 1, then beating Hardin County at home 52-30 on Friday, December 4.
The game against North Side was over with almost before it got started. Bolivar led 28-2 after one period, and 39-11 after two periods for a 27 point lead at the break. Northside failed to score in the second half, while Bolivar added 22 points in the third period and 11 points in the fourth period for a 51 point 62-11 win.
“The girls needed a game like this to get some confidence back,” Bolivar Head Coach Rick Rudesill said.
Hailey Hardaway led all scorers with 17 points, followed by Kenylsha Bryant with 13 points, Kamya Brown with 11 points and Quintella Bills with 10 points.
Bolivar kept up the momentum on Friday night when they returned home to face Hardin County, winning 52-30.
The Lady Tigers jumped out to an early lead, and were up by five-points after the first period, 15-points at the break, and 23-points after the third period. Hardin County got one-point back in the fourth period, but it was no where near enough, as Bolivar easily won by 22-points 52-30.
“The girls are starting to play together as a team and with a lot of energy,” Rudesill said. They are still having trouble knocking down shots, but they are doing all those little things that help to win games.”
