Centennial Donates to Imagination Library

Centennial Bank donated $1,000 to the Hardeman County Imagination Library. Hardeman County Imagination Library (HCIL), in partnership with Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library and the Governor's Early Literacy Foundation.

The program (GELF) provides age-appropriate books to 1,212 eligible children, birth to age five, monthly, in Hardeman County. Its mission is to strengthen early literacy and foster a love of reading in Hardeman County preschoolers by mailing an Imagination Library book to the home of every enrolled child each month. All children in Hardeman County, from birth to age five, are eligible to enroll in this program at no cost to the family.

The cost of providing one child with a year’s worth of Imagination Library books is $24, shared evenly between each county program and Governor’s Early Literacy Foundation, through a state grant approved by the Tennessee General Assembly. Financial support for the program is needed from businesses, community, and faith-based organizations as well as individuals.

“We are fortunate to have has supporters like Centennial Bank as a longtime annual supporter of the Hardeman County Imagination Library and the recent donations will help with expenses that the local organization must raise to keep those books coming,” said Woods.
