ONE GAME SHORT

The Bolivar Dizzy Dean 6U Girls All- Stars had the best finish for a girls team in eight years as they fell to Batesville to finish in second place on June 29. In 2016, the 6U Girls finished second as well, coming from the losers bracket to force an if necessary game where they fell to Neshoba 14-8. The 2024 squad began their tournament with a couple of losses, one to Batesville, but played through the losers bracket, winning three in a row to get another shot at Batesville in the final. Bolivar’s third game of the day in the near 100-degree heat proved too much as they fell 16-6. The best ever finish for a Bolivar team at the Dizzy Dean World Series was the 16U team that won the tournament in 2016. The boys teams also played the same weekend, with the 6U team leading the way.
