MLK, Jr. Committee Announces Parade Date

The Parade Committee for Hardeman County’s Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Birthday celebration announced that the 31st Annual Parade will be held in downtown Bolivar on Saturday, January 14, 2023.   The parade will begin at Bolivar Elementary school parking lot at 2:00 p.m.

Everyone planning to participate is asked to arrive promptly at 12:00 noon at Bolivar Elementary parking lot.  Student groups, clubs, churches, bands and organizations are invited.

The theme for 2023 is:  “A High Quality Public Education is a Must for Our Community”.

The public is invited to join in the celebrations.

Photo: In 2021, a local group called “Women of Purpose” marched in honor of Martin Luther King, Jr. on Monday, January 18, beginning at Bolivar Central High School and ending at the Hardeman County Courthouse Square. The march was in place of the annual parade that was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
