Shaw Brings Bicentennial Proclamation

The Hardeman County Bicentennial was celebrated at the county commission meeting as State Representative Johnny Shaw read a proclamation to the county commission.

“I’m proud to live here,” he began. “I want to thank God for what he has done. We face challenges every day and we embrace change. We are a blessed county.”

Shaw’s proclamation will be read once again at the Bicentennial Celebration on October 28, scheduled for 11:00 a.m, with exhibits showcasing the past 200 years in Hardeman County, including the 1976 time capsule, which although water-damaged, has approximately 100 items in various degrees of condition.

A reception at The Columns in Bolivar will have refreshments from 12:00-2:00 p.m.
