‘It’s time to get to work’

By Amelia Monroe Carlson “The election is over, now it’s time to get to work,” said Hardeman County General Sessions Judge Charles ‘Chip’ Cary, as he began the swearing in of the newly elected county offi cials. The swearing in, held on Friday, August 29, was the last time Cary will hold the swearing in of offi cials as judge, after he announced his retirement in 2013. However, the newly sworn in offi cials face many obstacles and challenges during their term. “The county has a lot of strong challenges ahead, but I’m looking forward to those challenges,” said Jimmy Sain, after he was sworn in as the new Hardeman County mayor. “We’ve elected a great group of commissioners to work with.
