Upcoming County Commission Meeting has packed agenda

The upcoming Hardeman County Commission meeting, scheduled for Tuesday, November 18, at 7 p.m., includes the recognition of Middleton High School girls volleyball team, four resolutions, election of notaries, Sheriff's Department vehicle purchase, reports from the Solid Waste Committee, Airport Committee and Ambulance Committee. Additionally, it includes the scheduling and seeking approval for the recognition and dedication of the picture and hallway in the Criminal Justice Complex to be named after former Hardeman County Sheriff Delphus Hicks.

In addition, Hardeman County Mayor Jimmy Sain will be presenting a resolution to urge and request the Hardeman County Board of Education to require the Pledge of Allegiance to be recited each school day and that each school day there shall be a student led moment of silence. One other item on the agenda is a "Clean-Up" Resolution that Sain said he believes will solve the problem many county residents are having with neighbors not cleaning their yards and, as a result, property values decrease.
