BREAKING NEWS UPDATE: Police have identified robbery suspect

Whiteville Police Chief Steven Stanley confirmed that officials have identified the robbery suspect in the surveillance video from the Whiteville BP station. Stanley said the suspect was a minor, 17 years old, and it is still unclear if prosecutors will pursue charging him as an adult.
In addition, Stanley confirmed the suspect was wearing additional clothing in an attempt to hide his true weight. Officials are still searching for the juvenile.
The juvenile robbed the Whiteville BP at gunpoint on New Year's Day at approximately 6 a.m. The amount of cash taken has not been determined.
