Lifetime of Service Honored

Family, friends, and law enforcement colleagues gathered July 2 to dedicate a portion of Highway 125 in Middleton to the memory of Monroe Jordan, who served as a law enforcement officer for thirty-six years.

He began his career in Bolivar, where he worked as an officer from 1969-1980, moving to Middleton in 1981 and stayed with the city until his retirement in 2006 as Chief of Police.

Jordan, who was a Vietnam War veteran, passed away on April 5, 2014.

The City of Middleton passed the measure before it was sponsored and approved at the state level by State Senator Page Walley and State Representative Ron Gant.
