Governor candidate wants the Bible back in schools

As the unofficial results were announced Thursday night (August 7), many throughout the state expressed their shock as Charles “Charlie” Brown defeated WM. H. (John) McKamey for the Democratic nomination for Governor. Brown, who carried Hardeman County with 861 votes as opposed to McKamey’s 348, said his main objective is to put the Bible back in schools.Brown talked to The Bolivar Bulletin-Times on Saturday and expressed his reaction to gaining the nomination and his plan to build a better Tennessee.  To view more, please log in or subscribe to the digital edition.
