Ella Willis, an 8th-grader at Middleton Middle School, won the Hardeman County 4-H Public Speaking Contest and advanced to the sub-regional competition. Willis’ subject was “Things that make me happy.”

The Hardeman County 4-H held their annual public speaking contest February 13 and 15 at Dixie Hills Baptist Church in Bolivar, with 55 participants in five grade groups. The largest group was the fourth graders, with 33 contestants.
