New Bolivar City Councilman Mike Brown Sworn-In

New Bolivar City Council member was sworn-in on December 12 at the regular meeting of the Bolivar City Council.

Brown, who served two terms in the Bobby Sain and Charles Frost administrations, was elected by a 3-2-2 vote of the remaining members in November.

Brown was among three who had expressed interest in the position. Also vying for the position were Chris Williams and former City Council member Randy Hill.

According to Mayor Julian McTizic, Brown will serve the remainder of the term of Councilman Dylan Hill, who took a job with the city in October. Hill’s term is up in 2025.

Also announced at the meeting was the impending departure of Councilman Crawford, who is intending to move to a home outside the city limits in January. Crawford’s position will be up for election in 2023.
