Don’t Ask Them, It’s Just Their Business

Residents of a local group home were charged for their alleged involvement in vandalism and theft in Bolivar.
Kevin Vaughn and Hunter Souder, both listed as having a Support Solutions address of 518 Pecan Drive in Bolivar in the Bolivar Police Report, were charged with 17 counts each, according to the Hardeman County General Sessions Clerk.
According to their website, Support Solutions “provides a wide range of services designed to help individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities live a full life in their own community.” They have homes in Tennessee and North Carolina and are based in Memphis.
Support Solutions in Bolivar reported the pair missing to the Bolivar Police Department on July 26. They were found and returned to the Pecan Drive address on July 30, at which time, according to the police narrative, both Vaughn and Souder admitted their involvement as in breaking into the Lions Club ballfield (see photo) on two occasions and also throwing a wrench though the window of a small construction building located at 10160 W. Market Street.
The next day, Support Solutions reported the two had again run from the group home and both were given a NIC number.
On August 2, the pair were caught attempting to break into the National Guard Armory after burglarizing the Optimist Field in Bolivar and the Lions Club field. At the time, the two were in possession of an axe, and a pickaxe and wearing football pad gear and welding helmets. They were returned to Support Solutions and removed from the NCIC.
The two appear to be on video obtained from Brooks Auto Service in Bolivar, breaking and/or looking into storage units and abandoned cars on August 2, but taking nothing, according to the report.
On August 3, after a call from the Bolivar Support Solutions home in Bolivar, the pair confessed their involvement and expressed remorse for their actions. They also led police to the site of their stolen items, including baseball catcher’s equipment, after which they were taken into custody.
Damages to and thefts from the Lions Club concession stand were estimated at $983, while damages to the Optimist Field in Bolivar were estimated at $1,370.
Calls to the Bolivar Support Solutions office were referred to the Memphis Support Solutions office. (see We Said, They Said... to the right)
On their website, Support Solutions had this statement in regards to an incident in Chattanooga in January.
