County Landfill to Open Next Week

Hardeman County plans to reopen the landfill east of Bolivar on February 22 after more than three years of work to repair the facility and getting it approved by the State of Tennessee.

Hardeman County Mayor Todd Pulse is glad to get this project completed and is grateful for the team effort he saw.

“We are proud to announce our landfill will be open once again. I appreciate the State of Tennessee, A2H Engineering, Darren Grantham, the Solid Waste Committee, Chairman Jeff Kennamore, and the landfill employees for their hard work and cooperation in getting this open,” he said.

It is expected the facilities (cells three and four) will last for twelve to fourteen years, according to Director of Solid Waste Steven Graves. Hours of operation will be Monday-Saturday from 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., closing an hour for lunch at 12:00 p.m. each day. Tipping fees increased from $22.50 per ton to $28.00, according to Graves.
