County Dancer to Appear in The Nutcracker
Miss Grace Teubner, 14-year old daughter of Darrell and Holliday Teubner, will dance in the roles of Russian and Mouse in Ballet Arts’ annual production of The Nutcracker on December 7, 8, and 9, at the Carl Perkins Civic Center in Jackson. This is the longest consecutively running Nutcracker production in the State of Tennessee.
Friday and Saturday evening performances are at 7:00 p.m. and a Sunday matinée is at 2:00 p.m. Tickets are available online www.balletartsjackson.org, at Special Occasions located 118 Commerce Center Circle in Jackson or by phone 731-668-3240 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. during the week.
In addition, Ballet Arts presents the Sugar Plum Fairy Tea Party on Saturday, December 8, at 5:30 p.m. and Sunday, December 9, at 12:30.
Ballet Arts, Inc. of Jackson was founded in 1975 is a community youth dance company, is open by membership to anyone regardless of race, color, sex religion, or national origin.
The tale of The Nutcracker and the Mouse King, was first performed in St. Petersburg, Russia on December 18, 1892. The French choreographer Marius Petipa worked closely with composer Peter Illych Tchaikovsky on the score.
