Compassion Week Honors Vietnam Vets

Parrans Chapel Baptist Church each year celebrates Compassion Week during the week preceding Easter. This year, member Betty Thompson said their project was to show appreciation for Vietnam Era Veterans, no matter what branch of service.
“We are out in the community telling people Jesus loves them,” she said adding that dozens of members of the church were participating in the event that served lunch on March 29.
Stepping out into the community is an annual thing during Holy Week, according to Thompson.
“Last year, we fed our teachers,” explained Thompson. “We even took it to them.”
