City of Bolivar Expands Park System on East Side

Keurig Dr Pepper (KDP) and the national non-profit KaBOOM! awarded the City of Bolivar a Let’s Play Community Construction Grant that was used to open a playground in the East Bolivar neighborhood at the Bolivar Housing Authority.
“Bolivar is a small community with a wonderful group of citizens. It is my goal to ensure that Bolivar continues to grow and be a great place to live, work and raise a family. By building this playground, our children will be able to enjoy hours of outdoor playtime that will enhance their quality of life” said Julian McTizic, Mayor of the City of Bolivar.
“This playground will provide area resident children a better quality of life by getting them outside to enjoy hours of playtime and bring our community together” said Micheal Miller, Director of Bolivar Housing Authority.
Curtis Stack, Director of Parks and Recreation said “This community built playground will support our mission to enhance the lives of our children, provide safe high quality equipment and improve the neighborhood.”
East Bolivar was chosen due to being the most heavily populated area in Bolivar with children who did not have access to play equipment.
