Hardeman County Sheriff’s Deputy Matthew Maness traveled to Nashville on September 11 to represent the sheriff’s department as Eddie Maurice Hamer, Animal Control Officer, was awarded the 2014 Three Stars for Tennessee Award for his sacrifice in the line of duty. Hamer was killed on January 27, 2014, in an automobile accident while responding to a call.
