“Ships of Life” teaching service at Miles Chapel

The historical Miles Chapel Christian Methodist Episcopal (C.M.E.) of Ripley, TN hosted an evening of teaching and outreach services on Friday, May 29, at 6  p.m. The opening song was Leaning on the Everlasting Arms. The “Ships of Life” program was an inspired revelation based on life viewed as a successful biblical and social cruise. The recorded theme song was A Ship Like Mine by the Williams Brothers.  In the sanctuary, the names of the twelve ships were vividly displayed in the windows which were friendship, relationship, leadership, stewardship, fellowship, companionship, citizenship, sportsmanship, hardship, membership, workmanship and ownership.
The service was called to order by the pastor of Miles Chapel, Rev. Ocie Wallace, Jr., who was also the musical technician.  Dr. Cyronose Spicer, pastor of New Beginnings Christian Center offered the prayer and scripture from Ephesians 5:20-33.  The greetings, instructions to the crew members and presentations of gifts bags were done by First Lady, Clara Wallace, of Middleton. The response and benediction was given by Rev. Leon Baltimore, pastor of Holly Grove Baptist Church.
