BEA Community Calendar for the Week of November 16, 2023

The Board of the Carl Perkins Exchange Club for the Prevention of Child Abuse is in need of donations, monetary or in the form of school supplies, hygiene items or canned goods. Contact Monica Goodman at 731-659-2373.

The Hardeman County Arts Council will host Soundbox at the Hardeman County Arts Center on December 16, at 7:00 p.m. For more information, got to hcactn.org.

Bolivar-Hardeman County Library - Thanksgiving Storytime & Activities Thursday, November 16th at 10:30am;  Bingo Hour Friday, November 17th at 10:30am

Christmas at the Crossroads, Saturday, November 18th from 9am-2pm at the Middleton Community Center. Vendors, Food, and Special Guests including Santa!

Community Chili Challenge - Chili Cook Off, November 18th at 10:30am - the Lafayette Gin in Grand Junction. Judging begins at 11:00am and Awards at 1pm. Free to participate.

Free Petting Zoo Experience at Michelle’s Magical Treasures, 511 Nuckolls Road, Bolivar on November 18th from 1-3pm.  Free food and drinks!

Middleton Down Home Christmas Parade on December 9th - Entry forms can be picked up at City Hall and returned by 4pm on Wednesday, December 6th.

Breakfast with Santa at MHS on Saturday, December 9th.  Advanced tickets on sale starting November 27th in the MHS office for $8.  Tickets at the door $10.  Pictures with Santa, Personalized Ornaments, Reindeer Games and more! Sponsored by the MHS Band.

Tai Chi for Arthritis at the Middleton Library, 110 Bolton Ave. - Classes are on Fridays - 11/17, 12/8, 12/15 at 11am.

Hope Holiday Mart, December 1-2 at the Old Wheeler Building. December 1 from 4-8 p.m. and December 2 from 10 am to 8 pm.

Grand Junction Ruritan Club is hosting Pancakes with Santa at the John Wilder Community Center on Saturday, November 18th from 8-11 am.  $5 for kids under 10, $8 for 11-Adults.  Pictures with Santa are available.

Small Town, Big Christmas in Bolivar Christmas Parade - December 2 at 6pm - 4pm lineup at Fred’s Parking Lot, 105 Tennessee St., 5pm Float Judging. Tree Lighting and Festival Kickoff - December 2 at 7pm at the Courthouse Square. Christmas Festival - December 3, 8, 9, 10, 15, 16, 17. Meet and Greet with “Flick” from The Christmas Story - Scott Schwartz with photo ops and autographs on Saturday, December 2nd from 5-10pm. Photos with Santa benefitting the Carl Perkins Center - December 2, 3, 8, 9, 10, 15,16, 17. Concert with Todd Tilghman, Season 18 Winner of The Voice, Saturday, December 9th at 7pm. Lights on the Lake - December 3-31 Open Nightly from 6-10pm. Retro Christmas Spectacular with Matthew Boyce at the Luez on Sunday, December 17th at 2pm.

Toone Christmas Celebration will be December 5, from 6:00 - pm-7:30 pm, at Toone City Hall. Santa Claus, lots of tasty Christmas treats and Christmas music provided by Ricky “Hoot” Hazelgrove and his saxophone. Everyone is invited. Please contact Mayor Kelley at Toone City Hall @ 731-658-9770 to volunteer or to donate cookies, hot dogs and buns, candy, drinks, or other goodies.

“Benefit Stew Cook” on Saturday, December 2, at the parking lot of Snow White Tavern, on Hwy. 18 N, starting at 2:00 pm. All proceeds will benefit Johnny Phillips, who is recovering from a long illness.

GED classes are being offered weekly at the Grand Junction Public Library, located at 530 Madison Ave W in Grand Junction. It opens at noon Tuesday-Friday. For more information call 731-764-2716.

Loaves and Fishes Food Bank needs all non-perishable food items. Call 609-2397 to drop off your donations. Canned fruit and protein items are most needed.
