July 3 – Red, White & Bolivar Independence Day Celebration, Sand Beach Lake, 575 E Market St., Gates Open: 5:30 p.m., featuring food vendors, entertainment at 7:30 p.m., and the largest fireworks show in Hardeman County at 9:30 p.m. July 3 - 4 – 4th of July Celebration, hosted by the Hornsby Fire Department, Location: Hornsby Baptist Church, featuring hamburgers, hotdogs, and fireworks July 3 at 6:00 p.m., and barbeque Lunch at 11:30 a.m. on July 4.
July 4 – City of Hickory Valley July 4th, 250 years celebration, Women’s Auxiliary of Hickory Fire Department, featuring food, games, and music. Food: 12:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m.
July 4 – Open Air on the Square Summer Concert Series, 7:00 p.m. – 12:00 a.m., Bolivar Courthouse Square, featuring food trucks, serving BBQ, soul food, and festival favorites to top regional bands that keep the crowd dancing all night.
July 7 – Tomato Contest, Bolivar Farmers Market, Enter Entries: 9:00 a.m., Judging: 10:00 a.m., Youth & Adult Categories: largest, weirdest shape, three best red tomatoes, three best green tomatoes, 10 best cherry tomatoes, best tomato dish cold, best tomato dish cooked. His peers have dubbed him “The man with the golden voice.”
