BEA Community Calendar for the Week of July 3, 2024

Music on the Square in Bolivar will return Friday, July 12, starting at 7:00 p.m. Bring your lawn chairs to the Square for a night of music and fun.

Grand Junction Farmer’s Market will be open Saturday, July 6; market hours will be 8:30 a.m. -12:30 p.m. at the Laffayette Gin, 216 Highway 57. For vendor information call 731-764-2871.

Bolivar Hardeman County Library Movie Days will be July 5 & 12 at 1:00 p.m.

Bolivar Hardeman County Library Sassy Seniors will meet July 9 & 23 at 10:30 a.m.

Hickory Valley Fourth of July Parade & Potluck will be held on Thursday, July 4. Line up for the parade begins at 10:30 a.m. in the Hickory Valley Gin parking lot; parade begins at 11:00 a.m. Decorate your bike, car, truck, or tractor, wear a patriotic costume and join in the fun. Bring a dish for the potluck lunch following the parade at the Hickory Valley City Hall.

Bolivar Hardeman County Library Story Hour will be held on July 10, 17, & 24 at 1:00 p.m. each day.

The Middleton Community Library Book Club for Adults will meet on Friday, July 12 at 1:00 p.m. at the library.

The Middleton Community Library and the Hardeman County Community Health Center will host a health fair and screening at the library on Saturday, July 13, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

Bolivar Hardeman County Library Summer Reading Program will meet again on July 19 at 10:30 a.m.; the Chickasaw Zoo will present the program.

The Lee Ola Roberts Library in Whiteville has Summer Reading Programs every Tuesday and Friday in July at 1:00 p.m.

Bolivar Farmers Market is open each Saturday at 7:00 a.m. with a variety of produce from local growers.

The Lee Ola Roberts Library in Whiteville will have a special story time on Thursday, July 18 at 1:00 p.m. Smokey the Bear will be the special guest this day.

The Anime Club at the Middleton Community Library will meet on Thursday, July 25, at 11:00 a.m. at the library.

The Carl Perkins Exchange Club for the Prevention of Child Abuse is in need of donations, monetary or in the form of school supplies, hygiene items, or canned goods. Contact Monica Goodman at 731-659-2373.

Bolivar Hardeman County Library Chair Yoga meets every Tuesday at 11:30 a.m.

The Grand Junction Loss Support Group meets the 4th Sunday of the month at 2:00 pm at Grand Junction United Methodist Church. For more information contact Pastor Cyndi 731-415-1051.

Middleton Art League meets the 4th Monday of each month for a potluck meal and fellowship along with a short program related to many artistic and creative subjects. Painters, photographers, quilt makers, scrapbookers, woodworkers, writers, drawers and various crafters - all are welcome! Meetings are free to attend but there is a membership fee of $20/year that allows for voting rights, various discounts and some free stuff.

Loaves and Fishes Food Bank needs all non-perishable food items. Call 731-609-2397 to drop off your donations. Canned fruit and protein items are most needed.
