Fentress Signs with Bethel

Bolivar Central Football player Ky’Juan Fentress signed to play at Bethel University on February 2.

“I’m super proud of Ky, one of the hardest workers day in and day out,” said former Bolivar Football Coach Hayden Williams, who had Fentress on his team all four years. “He has grown as a man, and a football player this past year and I couldn’t be more proud and excited to see where he goes from here. Bethel is getting a great man and someone who I feel can help them immensely on the defensive line.”

Fentress’ career with Bolivar saw him begin as a running back, but ended up more on the defensive side of the ball as his high school career progressed. Fentress was still often called in to get it into the end zone, as he scored 16 touchdowns on the ground over his four years.

Bethel went 11-2 in 2023, falling to Keiser in the third round (final eight) of the NAIA playoffs.

They compete in the Bluegrass Division of the Mid-South Conference. Head Coach Mike Jasper is 37-17 all-time, leading the team to the NAIA playoffs the past two seasons. Jasper played his college career at UT-Martin.
