HIRING NOTICE - City of Middleton

General Labor Position, Full or Part-Time

For the City of Middleton

This position is responsible for performing maintenance tasks of a semi-skilled nature; cutting grass, removing debris for streets, gravel, trash and other debris including manual collection and disposal of refuse.  Duties include other support services under the direction of the City Administrator/Utilities Manager.

Work is primarily performed outdoors in various weather conditions.  The employee will operate a variety of heavy and light equipment such as lawnmowers, weed-eaters, tractor and other equipment.  The employee will also use a variety of hand tools and small machinery.   

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB

Lawn care within city limits.

Remove debris from street right of ways and other City property.

Participates in road repair, gravel spreading, or ditch digging.

Operate City equipment such as motored service vehicles.

Perform work in accordance within all federal, state and local laws, rules and regulations and within mandated and appropriate standards.

OTHER

Must possess and maintain a valid Tennessee State driver license.

Individuals may be required to pass a post-offer/pre-employment physical examination by a physician designated by the City of Middleton. The City will pay for the examination. Further, satisfactorily pass a background clearance to verify the ability to perform essential job functions.
