BEA Community Calendar for the Week of April 4, 2024

City of Grand Junction’s Annual Yard Sale will be held April 6, from 8:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. at the Laffayette Cotton Gin.

Storytime at the Bolivar Hardeman County Library will be at 10:30 a.m. on April 4 & 18.

Hardeman County Carl Perkins Center will host a Community Day on Friday, April 5, from 3:00-5:00 p.m. at the Center on 149 Tennessee Street in Bolivar. Information about the Center’s services will be available along with snacks, toys, school supplies, and more.

The Brown Bag Book Club will meet on noon, Monday, April 8, at the Bolivar Hardeman County Library.

Sassy Seniors Group meets April 9 & 23, at 10:30 a.m. at the Bolivar Hardeman County Library. Dining with Diabetes class will be held April 9 & 16 at 11:00 a.m. at the Bolivar Hardeman County Library.

Lego Club at the Bolivar Hardeman County Library meets April 11 at 3:30 p.m.

“Dine for a Cause” with the Carl Perkins Hardeman County Center at Backwoods Restaurant on April 11, from 5:00- 9:00 p.m. Celebrity servers will collect tips and 10% of the evening’s proceeds will go to the Center.

Family Board Game Night at the Middleton Community Library will be April 11, at 3:30 p.m.

Bingo at the Bolivar Hardeman County Library will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, April 12.

Middleton Community Library Book Club for Adults meets on Friday, April 12 at 1:00 p.m. This month’s book is Loyalty by Lisa Scottaline.

Toone’s “Spring Fling in the Park” will be held on Saturday, April 13, from 10:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. in the Toone City Park; rain date will be April 20.

The Lee Ola Roberts Library in Whiteville will host a program on Scams Targeting West Tennessee on April 18 at 2:00 p.m. at the Library. Better Business Bureau representative Toddnetta Trice will present the program.

Grand Junction’s first Neighborhood Watch Program meeting will be held on April 18, at 6:30 p.m. at the John Wilder Center next to City Hall.

STEM Class at the Middleton Community Library meets on Thursday, April 18, at 4:00 p.m.

The Hebron Baptist Church Senior Luncheon will be April 18 at Noon. Chicken and trimmings. Mr. Lynn Carroll from Bethel Springs is the speaker. Everyone is welcome.

Shop Smart TN meets at the Middleton Community Library on April 19 & 26, at 11:00 a.m. Learn budget and health grocery skills – please call the library at 731- 376-0680 for more information.

Bolivar Main Street’s Spring Fling will be Saturday, April 20, from 10:00 a.m. -8:00 p.m. on the Courthouse Square; crafts, food trucks, music, and fun for all.

Anime Club at the Middleton Community Library will host its first meeting on Thursday, April 25, at 4:00 p.m. Grilling Class at the Middleton Community Library will be held on Saturday, April 27, at 10:00 a.m.

Grand Junction Spring Bazaar will be Saturday, May 4, from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Laffeyette Cotton Gin – crafts, food trucks, silent auction, and more.

Middleton Art League meets the 4th Monday of each month for a potluck meal and fellowship along with a short program related to many artistic and creative subjects. Painters, photographers, quilt makers, scrapbookers, woodworkers, writers, drawers and various crafters - all are welcome! Meetings are free to attend but there is a membership fee of $20/year that allows for voting rights, various discounts and some free stuff.

The Big Springs Independent Church, located in the Northwest corner of Chickasaw State Park on Big Springs Road, invites everyone to join them for worship services at 11:00 a.m. on Sundays. Bro. Robert L. Gibson will be leading the services each week.

The Carl Perkins Exchange Club for the Prevention of Child Abuse is in need of donations, monetary or in the form of school supplies, hygiene items or canned goods. Contact Monica Goodman at 731- 659-2373. The Grand Junction Loss Support Group meets the 4th Sunday of the month at 2:00 pm at Grand Junction United Methodist Church. Loaves and Fishes Food Bank needs all non-perishable food items. Call 731-609- 2397 to drop off your donations. Canned fruit and protein items are most needed.
