Woods Signs with Three Rivers

Bolivar Central Lady Tiger Softball four-year starter Shelby Woods (seated middle right) signed November 11 to attend Three Rivers Community College in Poplar Bluff, MO and wll compete in the Missouri Community College Athletic Conference (MCCAC).
“Shelby is the athlete that I never had to worry about “not showing up,” began Coach Kim Emmerson. “She is my ‘I can’t...I have softball’ kid, yet excelled in her school work, FFA activities, and found time to kill some turkey and deer. She dreamed of this moment and worked hard for it to become a reality. Three Rivers is getting not only a great athlete but a great all-around young lady.”
In 2018-19, the last full year played in the MCCAC, the Lady Raiders went 40-9 overall, with a MCCAC record of 15-3, good enough for the championship.
The MCCAC awarded its first conference championships in men’s basketball and men’s baseball in 1968 and was named the Midwest Junior College Athletic Conference (MJCAC). Since then the conference has gone through two name changes. The name was changed to the Midwest Community College Athletic Conference in the 1980’s to reflect the growing trend in changing names of junior colleges to community colleges.
In 2014, the name was altered to reflect the conference schools all being from Missouri. Charter members included: St. Louis Community College-Florissant Valley, St. Louis Community College- Forest Park, St. Louis Community College- Meramec, Three Rivers Community College, and Mineral Area College.
