Tigers Get Region Win

Bolivar Central’s first win since August came on the strength of a 29-point third quarter and two 100-yard performances from running backs as they defeated Westview 52-31.
The Tigers, who had scored first in six of their eight games coming into the night, turned the opening kickoff into a disaster as a fumble by Omar Jones put the ball at the six-yard line for an easy opening score by the Chargers.
“It was a bad start,” said Head Coach Woodrow Lowe. “But we played hard from there.”
The Tigers reversed the lead on a Jar Lewis 5-yard run and two point extra point to give Bolivar a 8-7 and then poured it on, outscoring the Chargers 23-3 to put the game away in the third quarter.
Westview managed a few touchdowns in the second half, but got no closer than 14 for the remainder of the game.
